Species: Compsognathus longipes – a small, agile theropod dinosaur from the Late Jurassic, often celebrated as one of the most complete dinosaur skeletons ever discovered. This reconstruction captures the delicate anatomy and refined predatory adaptations of this swift, birdlike carnivore.

Length: 100 cm (3.3 ft) replica.

Time Period: Late Jurassic (~150 million years ago)

Discovery Location: Based on fossils recovered from the Solnhofen limestone of Bavaria, Germany – a renowned Lagerstätte preserving exquisite detail in both skeletal and soft tissue structures.

Skeleton: Expertly sculpted and produced in durable resin, this Compsognathus skeleton is recreated with meticulous anatomical accuracy. Its slender, lightly built frame includes fine, grasping forelimbs, a long balancing tail and a narrow, pointed skull—key features of its predatory lifestyle. The fossil bone texture is finished with a weathered patina and the skeleton is reinforced with an internal metal armature for long-term stability.

Anatomical Notes: Compsognathus was a fast, terrestrial predator, likely preying on small vertebrates and insects. As one of the earliest dinosaurs with strong links to modern birds, it occupies a pivotal place in theropod evolution. The specimen’s proportions—including long hindlimbs, reduced forearms, and a stiff tail—highlight its role as an agile ground hunter.

Display: Mounted on a custom black metal stand in a dynamic, lifelike posture, with an alert stance and lightly elevated tail, conveying motion and readiness. Ideal for museum exhibits, educational displays, or private collections.

Assembly: Ships in carefully protected sections for secure transit. Assembly is straightforward with slot-together parts and optional adhesive to reinforce joints.

Please note: All skeletons are made to order. Production time typically ranges from 8–12 weeks, depending on workshop scheduling. Smaller fossil elements (e.g., individual bones or casts) may ship more quickly. Contact us directly via chat for current turnaround times or special requests.
